It's
Takes a
Village

At Cape Archives Tours, we believe that when one disadvantaged child is left behind, a hundred are denied opportunity. That’s why we’ve partnered with Zanokhanyo Children's safety home, supporting their mission to provide safe shelter, education, and nourishment to children from poverty-stricken families.

Educate

Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Yet in South Africa today, many children are denied that very key to change. Due to challenges such as extreme poverty, high crime rates, and a lack of adequate public facilities, nearly a third of South African children leave school before reaching their final year. This is not just a statistic — it’s a crisis. It limits the potential of our youth, deepens inequality, and intensifies the social difficulties faced by our communities. At Cape Archives Tours, we believe that empowering children through education is essential to building a better future. That’s why we support initiatives like Zanokhanyo Children’s Home, which gives vulnerable children a chance to grow, learn, and lead.

Sports, Arts, and Culture

There’s a saying: “A child in sport is a child out of jail.” In South Africa, this couldn’t be more true. Many of our nation’s most celebrated athletes and artists. From football legends like Benni McCarthy to musical icons like the late Oliver Mtukudzi — come from humble beginnings in poverty-stricken townships. Exposure, encouragement, and basic equipment — like a pair of football boots or running shoes— can make all the difference. For many children, it’s the first step on a journey that could take them from dusty streets to international stages. At Cape Archives Tours, we believe in nurturing this potential by supporting grassroots initiatives that bring sport, art, and mentorship into township communities. Because every child deserves the chance to discover their greatness.

Home and Sanitation

Every child deserves a safe space to return to — a place to simply be. After a long day at school, a tough sports match, or any demanding activity, home should be a sanctuary. It’s where children find comfort, safety, and peace of mind — a place where they can truly exhale. A home isn’t just four walls; it’s where children recharge for the day ahead, learn responsibility through small chores, and most importantly, feel a sense of belonging. No matter what challenges life brings, every child should know they have a place to return to — a home that welcomes them with open arms. At Cape Archives Tours, we stand by this belief. That’s why we support organizations like Zanokhanyo Children’s Home, which provides vulnerable children not just with shelter, but with hope, stability, and love.

Love and care

Many of the children at Zanokhanyo Children’s Home have faced heartbreaking circumstances. Some were abandoned due to addiction, while others lost their parents to illnesses like HIV. Without the love and guidance of a mother or father, it becomes all too easy for these young souls to lose hope — or worse, lose themselves. At Cape Archives Tours, we believe it’s our responsibility to step in and show these children that they are not forgotten. We organize school trips during holidays, spend quality time with them, and create joyful experiences that remind them: they are loved, they matter, and they belong.
