Room Facilities

Camp Savuti features a cozy lounge, bar, dining area, boma, library, and fire-pit, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The five Meru-style tents with raised platforms offer stunning wilderness views and include en-suite bush showers, flush toilets, cotton linen, safes, and optional extra beds. A small splash pool completes the experience.

Getting There

The Savuti Airstrip is accessible by light aircraft. It’s a 40 minute flight from Maun and Kasane. General transfer times are 40 minutes from Maun, 40 minutes from Kasane and 20- 40 minutes from most other lodges innorthern Botswana.

Weather

The rainy season (November–March) brings hot, wet weather with daytime temperatures of 35–40°C and cooler nights averaging 26°C. Dry periods occur between rains. The dry season (May–September) offers milder days averaging 27°C, but nights can be very cold, occasionally dropping below freezing, making layers essential for early mornings and evenings.

Malaria

Malaria is prevalent from January to May, so precautions are essential. Consult your GP for malaria prophylaxis. To avoid bites, use insect repellent, sleep under mosquito nets, and use air-conditioning. During the day, wear light, long-sleeved clothing to minimize exposure. Taking these measures helps ensure a safer and more enjoyable safari experience.

Wildlife

Chobe National Park’s diverse habitats include floodplains, swamps, woodlands, and the Chobe River, attracting abundant wildlife. Known as the land of giants, it boasts one of the world’s largest elephant populations, along with lions and buffalo. The Savuti Channel offers prime game viewing, with sightings of predators, zebra, sable, African Wild Dog, and more.
