It’s perched on a hilltop in Timbavati Private Game Reserve, in the Greater Kruger National Park – with wide angle views over the bush and views to the distant mountains of the Drakensberg escarpment.
Below lie the expansive Mbali Dam and the Nhlaralumi River, where you may be lucky to see elephant, and other wildlife, come to quench their thirst.
The Timbavati Private Game Reserve, bordering Kruger National Park, is home to diverse wildlife, including the Big Five. Its name, derived from a Shangaan word meaning "the place where something sacred came down from the heavens," captures the reserve’s magical spirit. Timbavati also protects endangered species like rhinos and pangolins.
